Training Coordinator

The City of Hampton's Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated Training Coordinator to lead the development, coordination, and delivery of a comprehensive operational training program. In this role, you'll evaluate department-wide training needs, design and implement effective learning strategies, and empower staff with the skills and knowledge to excel in service to our community. Working under limited supervision, you'll play a key role in shaping a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth across the department.

Minimum Requirements :

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social or Behavioral Science, Public or Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in researching and implementing organizational training programs, developing training materials and / or presenting trainings. Demonstrates experience in developing and managing workforce training plans. Must have knowledge of what is current and relevant in the training realm.
• One (1) year of experience in virtual learning environments.
• Knowledge of adult learning techniques, training design and delivery, and change management with a demonstrated ability to conduct training needs assessments.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria.
• This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy.
