Job Purpose
This position leads complex productivity projects for LGUS and partners with business stakeholders at multiple levels to align on the needs and opportunities to the organization. The primary focus for this position will be in implementing best practices and improvement projects nationally, specifically for the Argon Product Line or a cost stack driver associated with it (Power / Water / Fuel). The employee will identify, prioritize, build regional and national support, and manage and implement the productivity improvements across all regions.
Scope
This position works under minimal supervision, with guidance in only most complex situations. Responsible for oversight and / or leadership of multiple productivity projects which are broad in nature, often across multiple sites. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of operations, argon production process and productivity methodology and processes. Teaches the application of advanced productivity tools and discipline. Overcomes resistance to change. Achieves desired cost impact by skillfully implementing productivity projects. Works with stakeholders at various levels, in particular, senior engineering, operations directors / managers, Product Management, technicians, reliability, distribution, and maintenance personnel to align and drive initiatives for operating plants within the United States. Works with the Operation Excellence group to review production KPI's and identify causes of variance. Utilizes learnings and system interdependencies to improve plant / product line KPI's, identify cost reduction / capital project opportunities, and increase plant profitability.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the LGUS Associate Director of Productivity. May train and coach junior level productivity professionals on complex projects. Leads project teams using a variety of productivity tools. May direct others on projects across multiple sites or regions. For G18 Specialists, may supervise Junior Productivity Specialists in similar product lines.
