Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) night shift position caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, requiring strong surgical IMC and open heart recovery background. Responsibilities Work in a fast-paced, 32-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) within a hospital setting Patient population includes those recovering from cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries, including heart and lung transplants Patients are 1 days out from procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, and valve replacements Care for patients with high acuity needs and mechanical circulatory support devices including LVADs Unit includes 12 IMC beds with continuous cardiac monitoring and 20 telemetry or non-monitored beds Mixed level of care assignments with typical nurse-patient ratios of 1 : 3 during the day and 1 : 4 at night Night shift schedule from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM Responsibilities include the care of immediate post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients with complex needs Provide specialized care for patients with mechanical assist devices and recovering transplants Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Training and orientation will be provided on specified dates Locals are accepted at the same rate except for specific facility locations Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Requirements Active MD or compact RN license required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Minimum of 2 years recent experience in cardiac open heart recovery Strong surgical IMC experience required At least 2 prior travel assignments in similar settings required Experience caring for high acuity IMC patients and managing mechanical circulatory support devices such as LVADs ICU experience required for management of high acuity patients Experience in facilities with 500 bed count expected Epic EMR experience required Critical Care Certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614125.
