Schedule & Coverage

Shift : 24-hour call
Dates Needed : December 22 – January 5
Potential : Ongoing intermittent / supplemental coverage

Case & Facility Details

Average Procedures :

~2 heart cases / week

~2–3 lung cases / week

Total : 5–6 cardiothoracic procedures / week

Annual ER Volume : 45,000 patients / year

Operating Rooms : 16

Patient Population : Adults & geriatrics

Documentation : EPIC

Scope of Practice

Adult Cardiac Surgery

Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)

Arterial Revascularization (IMA, radial artery, gastroepiploic artery)

Redo coronary revascularization (with or without valve surgery)

Heart Valve Surgeries

Heart valve repair & replacement

Mitral valve repair

Heart valve replacement without surgery (CoreValve® System)

General Thoracic Surgery

Thoracotomy lung biopsy

Thoracotomy lung resections & pneumonectomy

Thoracotomy decortication

Chest wall resection & reconstruction

Mediastinal surgery

Mediastinotomy & biopsy

Additional Procedures

Tube thoracostomy

Pericardial window

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

Active Indiana medical license (or ability to obtain)

Strong experience in high-acuity adult cardiac and thoracic cases
