Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Git administrator / Software Engineer to help us migrate our engineering teams to a unified version control system using Git. You will work with teams to set up Git according to our company's best practices in an enterprise environment. Your responsibilities include working with local and offshore development teams to implement automation procedures supporting our development and QA teams. You will define guidelines and procedures for future system enhancements and development efforts, ensuring high service levels and support for our teams into the future. The ideal candidate has enterprise-level support knowledge / experience with Git and understands how to integrate with Rational Team Concert. This is not a configuration management position; troubleshooting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with enterprise Git system architecture
• Ability to educate engineering teams on efficient Git usage
• Set and enforce development guidelines and best practices
• Provide first-level support for system issues
• Define and maintain SLAs and processes, including server uptime and consistency
• Administer the system : setting up users, groups, projects, and configurations
• Install and configure server software, proxies, mirrors, and peripheral tools
• Develop server-side scripts and integrate Git with tools like Rational Team Concert, code review tools, and build management systems

Additional Information

Must have experience with Git and Rational Team Concert (RTC).
