Staffing Coordinator
The Staffing Coordinator plays a vital administrative and logistical role in supporting the daily operations of all MD Anderson inpatient units. This position ensures appropriate staffing levels by managing complex scheduling needs across various clinical roles, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Patient Services Coordinators (PSCs), and Patient Services Assistants (PSAs). Responsibilities include tracking attendance and call-outs, coordinating shift coverage (including overtime and float staff), and maintaining accurate records for payroll coding, particularly for intermittent FMLA cases.
The coordinator serves as a key communication link between nursing leadership, unit staff, and executive management, ensuring timely updates and staffing decisions. Additionally, the role oversees sitter case allocation, managing coverage for 2045 1 : 1 patient requests per shift.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working across departments and resolving staffing conflicts diplomatically. They demonstrate critical thinking and quick decision-making, especially when handling unexpected absences. Highly organized and efficient, they manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion. Dependable and proactive, they anticipate staffing needs and take initiative to ensure smooth operations.
This position will work 4-10 hours shifts overnight from 1900-0530 (7pm-530am), every other weekend and rotating holidays. This role is 100% onsite.

Required Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Work Experience : High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of healthcare and / or administrative experience.
