Job description

Part Time Custodian

Are you someone who enjoys tackling a variety of tasks and keeping things in top shape? If so, the City of Burlington is hiring a Part Time Custodian at the Amusement Park.

What you will do : The position is responsible for making sure the facilities are clean and safe in appearance. Work includes both indoor and outdoor spaces. The employee may be called upon to help assist the Park Maintenance team with light maintenance duties at the facility.

Examples of Duties

  • Restroom Refresh : Clean and stock restroom facilities to keep them guest-ready.
  • Floor Care Pro : Sweep floors daily and operate floor buffer / scrubber machines.
  • Dust & Shine : Wipe down surfaces to remove dust and debris.
  • Setup & Teardown : Handle table and chair arrangements for events and activities.
  • Trash Patrol : Pick up loose trash inside and outside, and service outdoor trash receptacles with a utility vehicle or golf cart.
  • Outdoor Upkeep : Blow or sweep sidewalks for a polished park appearance.
  • Stock & Organize : Inventory and organize supplies as needed.
  • Park Custodian Extraordinaire : Assist with other maintenance and custodial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Clear Communicator : Strong communication skills are a must! Problem-Solver Extraordinaire : Bring your creativity and resourcefulness to tackle challenges. Team Player with Grit : Comfortable with tasks like cleaning public restrooms and handling trash disposal. Flexible Availability : Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends as needed. Age Requirement : Applicants must be 18 years or older.

  • Work in this class is described as medium and frequently requires physical exertion to complete tasks and move objects.
