Description :

Unit : NICU - Community Level 3.

Number of beds : 14.

Ratios : 1 to 1 or 1 to 3.

EMR : Cerner.

Charge Nurse : Yes.

Nurse Aides : No.

Weekend Requirement : Yes, every other weekend.

Holidays : Work in with core rotation.

Scrub Color : Navy blue.

Tele : Phillips.

Vents : Yes.

Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house : Have a neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24 / 7.

IV Team : No.

RT 24 / 7 : Yes, run vents.

Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes.

Shifts : 12-hour shifts; 7p, 7a start times.

Floating : No.

Common diagnosis / Types of patients : r / o sepsis, preemie, late preterm, IDGDM, NAS, no surgicals, some readmits.

Additional Notes : Lab draws the neonate lab work.

Patients can be discharged home from NICU or transferred.

Locked unit.

Cancellation Policy : Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks.

Charting System : Cerner.
