Description :
This role requires working in a fast-paced intensive care unit environment.
The nurse-to-patient ratios are generally 1 : 1-2 for ICU patients, with varying ratios for other care levels.
Candidates will care for adult and pediatric patients over 15 years of age with complex medical conditions.
Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, sepsis, and stroke.
The unit also handles general surgery patients and patients requiring advanced interventions.
Nurses are expected to titrate medications and manage various infusions and drips.
There is a charge nurse on each shift who also takes patient assignments and attends rapid response teams and code events.
Patient care technicians are present to assist with care.
Nurses will need to handle airway management equipment and be proficient in monitoring patients.
Each nurse is responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
Self-scheduling is not provided; scheduling is managed based on unit needs.
Weekend and holiday shifts are required on a rotating basis.
Floating to other inpatient units may occur, excluding certain specialized areas.
The dress code is navy blue scrubs.
Successful candidates will possess critical thinking skills, a positive attitude, and a collaborative spirit.
The environment prioritizes high-quality care and teamwork among all healthcare providers.
All requests for time off must be submitted upfront, with limited allowances for additional requests.
The cancellation policy allows for a maximum of four shifts to be canceled within a 13-week contract.
Experience with EPIC charting is preferred.
A BSN is not required for this position.
