Summary of Position :
The QC Chemist I is responsible for testing and dispositioning raw materials, in-process and final dietary supplements products. Maintain and operate the equipment used in testing and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Routinely evaluate raw ingredients by FTIR, Organoleptic analysis, HPTLC, and Botanical microscopy.
- Evaluate Dietary Supplements using HPLC, UV-Vis, FTIR, AA, ICPMS and other instrumentation and methods.
- Routine laboratory activities including but not limited to glassware washing, waste removal, solution preparation and lab supply purchase.
- Aid in maintaining cGMP regulatory compliance within our laboratory including cleanliness, proper labeling of working / stock reagents and logbooks.
- Maintain instrument logs per PLP and cGMP requirements.
- Maintain, operate, troubleshoot and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Communicate information appropriately, accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Generate and review assay reports and Paragon Laboratories Procedures as needed.
- Comply with all current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), safety requirements, and Paragon Laboratory Procedures (PLPs).
- Other duties as assigned by QC Manager / upper management.

Excellent and verbal communicational skills.Strong interpersonal skills / team player.MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook required.Detailed, able to meet deadlines, organized.Experience in a cGMP regulated environment preferred.Computer Skills :
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.Experience with Shimadzu Lab Solutions, preferred.Other duties as assigned by management.Education Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemist / Biochemistry or any related field required.Some experience with laboratory instrumentation and basic analytical skills is preferred.Physical Requirements :
Requires standing / walking 50%-70% of the day, roughly 5 to 6 hours.Minimal lifting, no more than 50 lbs.Sitting stationary roughly 20%–50% of the day, up to 5 hours, with focus on computer tasks.Some slight bending / maneuvering.
