Job Details :

  • Work evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts per unit needs
  • Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts
  • Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures
  • Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs per physicians' written orders
  • Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions
  • Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility
  • Handle all radiologic equipment safely and properly keeping dose to patient as low as possible
  • Observe each patient's status and interpret appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs
  • Produce diagnostic, high quality images for interpretation by radiologists
  • Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient information and exam details
  • Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are sent to PACS system correctly
  • Must have completion of formal training in approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Maintain certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • NYS license required (or able to obtain prior to starting)
  • 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience required
  • Level 1 trauma center experience required
  • Experience using c-arm / o-arm within past 8 months required
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift / move patients
