Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Fishers, Indiana. This is a contract-to-long-term opportunity that offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with occasional in-office tasks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting practices, and supporting business objectives through meticulous financial reporting.

Responsibilities :

Handle the full cycle of accounts payable processes, including invoice management and vendor payments.
Reconcile financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Process approximately 115 invoices monthly while maintaining efficiency and precision.
Utilize Great Plains software to manage accounting operations and maintain financial data.
Perform journal entries and manage the general ledger for accurate financial reporting.
Oversee sales tax calculations and ensure timely compliance with tax regulations.
Prepare and review corporate tax returns to align with legal and organizational requirements.
Conduct weekly mail collection tasks as part of the role.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making and reporting.

Requirements :

Proven experience in a full-cycle accounts payable role, managing high volumes of invoices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) accounting software is required.

Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax return preparation.

Expertise in performing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to reconcile financial accounts accurately.

Availability to work remotely with the flexibility to manage occasional in-office tasks in Fishers, Indiana.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
