Description

The Product Engineer will work within a dynamic engineering group but is ultimately responsible for a leadership role in a dedicated product line of Brinkley RV to achieve company goals and timelines reporting to Product Management and the Director of Engineering. This position is responsible for accomplishing the vision the Product Management team & engineering product team in designing, testing, and maintaining various products, systems, and records. The person in this position must be well organized, detail oriented, creative, and have the flexibility to handle multiple project assignments at the same time.

Essential Functions

• Be a lead voice in the design, development, and when necessary testing of new products and systems
• Conduct research to gather information necessary for product development
• Assist with the selection of appropriate materials and components for product design
• Work with lead product stake holders to evaluate and improve existing products and systems
• Perform analysis to identify potential issues or problems with product design
• Document product design activities and update necessary records
• Collaborate with company stake holders to ensure products can be produced efficiently
• Support the implementation of new technology into products and systems
• Provide technical support to other departments, such as manufacturing or customer service, as needed
• 3D drawings and layouts using SolidWorks (SolidWorks FEA competency is a plus)
• Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy and operating convenience
• Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality as observed in finished product audits
• Frequent contact and interaction with production, purchasing, and product management team

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is not required but could be necessary based on project timelines.

Manufacturing / industry experience is a plus.

SolidWorks FEA

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires walking and standing primarily on a level surface for extended periods. Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, and / or lifting as much as 50 lbs. in a repetitive manner can be common. The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and interaction traditional equipment found in a manufacturing plant environment, however, working outdoors is sometimes required. A good relationship with a presence on the manufacturing floor is required.

Travel

Local travel between manufacturing facilities or vendors maybe expected for this position.
