The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions jail based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana

Division : Within the Maintenance Department at ELMHS Located in Jackson LA

ELMHS is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join the team in the Maintenance Department. Here the work can comes in a range of different varieties from carpentry to HVAC.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades building maintenance maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR

Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction construction technology or engineering; OR

Twelve semester hours in construction management construction technology or engineering or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties :

In this role you will :

• Be responsible for the upkeep and appearance of the hospital grounds.
• Must be able to operate all power and hand held equipment such as : Weed eaters weed trimmers lawn mowers both riding and push chainsaws power edger power blowers etc.
• Duties include but are not limited to : cutting grass and weed-eating around stationary structures trimming the hedges picking up branches that have fallen out of tree and at times cutting limbs out of trees.
• Make repairs in the following fields :

Plumbing : Unstop commodes and sinks repair water & sewer lines etc.

Appointment Type : WAE (not to exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period)
