Job descriptionMonitor licensed and registered child-care facilities for compliance with standards; document and communicate corrective actions; conduct inspections and timely follow-up inspections. Investigate complaints and allegations of minimum standards violations; complete investigations timely and documentation to support decisions. Evaluate new applications for child-care facilities to issue permits; ensure processing aligns with laws, rules, and policy time frames. Identify risk and refer to Child-Care Enforcement when necessary; conduct inspections to follow up after enforcement actions. Provide training and technical assistance to child-care providers; attend or present at provider meetings and trainings. Respond to emergency complaints of high-risk situations in licensed operations; perform other duties as assigned to maintain unit operations. Registrations, Licensure Requirements Or Certifications : Valid driver's License. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs) : Knowledge of Texas laws and regulation; strong verbal and written communication; ability to establish effective working relationships; ability to de-escalate situations; ability to travel; ability to work with diverse groups; ability to prioritize and self-start; basic office equipment proficiency. Initial Screening Criteria : Graduation from an accredited four-year college or equivalent experience; experience in regulatory services such as inspections and investigations is preferred. Work hours are flexible; occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Position may qualify for telework with travel outside the headquartered area as needed. Background checks and verification of degree(s) / license(s) are required.
