Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Addiction Medicine Medical Director to join our OASAS-certified outpatient treatment program. The ideal candidate will provide patient-centered, evidence-based care for individuals with substance use disorders, ensuring compliance with OASAS regulations and organizational policies.
In addition to direct patient care, this role will also include community outreach and business development initiatives to strengthen partnerships, expand referral networks, and promote clinic services within the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to the team, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Oversee program performance metrics, including patient outcomes, retention, and satisfaction, and implement strategies to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in accordance with OASAS guidelines.
- Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms, side effects, and medication adherence.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with behavioral health and counseling staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) per OASAS and facility standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Provide patient education on substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and harm reduction strategies.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and OASAS regulations, including all reporting requirements.
- Participate in case conferences, quality assurance activities, and staff training.
- Maintain current knowledge of addiction medicine best practices, emerging treatments, and regulatory updates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, hospitals, treatment centers, and community agencies to promote clinic services and generate patient referrals.
- Engage in business development activities such as representing the clinic at community events, professional meetings, and outreach programs to increase visibility and strengthen referral pipelines.

Requirements
MD or DO with active New York State license.Board Certified in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, or Internal Medicine preferred.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in addiction medicine or related clinical setting preferred.Knowledge of OASAS regulations and familiarity with NYS substance use treatment systems.Strong communication, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and networking / relationship -building skills.Commitment to patient-centered, stigma-free care.Bilingual a plus, Spanish preferredSetting : Outpatient OASAS-certified clinic.Schedule : Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.May require occasional travel between program sites, outreach events, or trainings.The salary for : FT - $250K / year
Hourly- $130 / hour - Max. 20 hours a week
