GENERAL INFORMATION

PRIMARY PURPOSE
This individual supports the Vice President of Loans in key areas that support the growth of the credit union’s loan department. These areas include, but are not limited to origination of consumer and mortgage loans, sales development, and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Accepts, evaluates, and approves consumer and real estate loan applications.Responsible for the training and development of the lending staff as the loan department’s primary trainer.Keeps abreast of industry and regulatory development and changes in the area of credit granting. Recommends policy changes as needed.Recommends and assists in the implementation of policy and procedural changes related to credit granting.Assists with credit union projects involving the development and advancement of the Loans department.Counsels / advises members regarding personal budgeting and finances. Will be required to attain the designation of Credit Union Certified Financial Counselor (CCUFC).Processes specialized consumer and mortgage products that may require special attention.Assist with the development of the credit union’s sales and growth programs.Serves as the credit union’s primary indirect lending liaison.Serves as a technical resource to the credit union loan officers. Assists with overseeing the lending staff in the absence of the Vice President of Loans.OTHER DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

Requires sitting at a work station and using a telephone for periods up to 4 hours (without a break) for up to a 10 hour work day.Requires data entry / key punching and mouse skills to complete daily work.Ability to view and correctly interpret numbers, text and images on a computer screen.Requires the use of various office equipment to perform duties.Requires working beyond the 8-hour day periodically.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.Experience :
Two years of experience in the field of consumer lending are required, but can be substituted with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree.Training :
Must be willing to attend / participate in any training necessary to learn / update skills or knowledge required for the position.
