Duration : 13 Weeks
Shift : 5x8-Hour Days (7 : 30 AM 4 : 00 PM)
Pay Rate : $2574 Weekly Gross
Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs specialized diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the detection and diagnosis of anatomical abnormalities. This role requires strong technical expertise attention to detail and patient-centered care while ensuring all exams are performed safely and efficiently in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform ultrasound procedures per departmental protocols completing each exam within the allotted time.
Conduct portable ultrasound exams as needed.
Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic images of anatomical structures including detection of masses abscesses and stones.
Assist physicians with specialized procedures including biopsies and color-flow studies.
Prepare patients for exams explain procedures clearly and position them appropriately for each view.
Evaluate image quality process images and maintain accurate patient records.
Perform daily clerical duties using systems such as EPIC TeleTracking and other computer applications.
Maintain and calibrate equipment ensuring all tools and instruments are properly cleaned sterilized and stored.
Provide guidance and training to students staff and residents as required.
Adhere to infection control and safety standards as well as hospital policies on attendance conduct and ID use.
Participate in on-call rotations holidays and weekend coverage as scheduled.
Demonstrate cultural and developmental sensitivity when interacting with diverse patient populations.
Required Skills & Experience
Current CPR certification .
Knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance.
Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy physiology and image evaluation.
Familiarity with patient safety infection control and emergency procedures.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) .
Preferred Experience
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
Education Requirements
Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School .
Minimum 2 years of Allied Health or college-level training .
Certifications & Licensure
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Required.
