Primary Purpose
The Director of Compliance Audit has responsibility for managing the effective implementation of specific components of Parkland's Ethics and Compliance Program ("Program") across the health system. The Director manages a team of compliance professionals responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring audit components of the Program to ensure compliance with federal healthcare program requirements, Parkland policy and the Code of Conduct and Ethics. This includes adherence to the requirements and guidance set forth by public and private insurance and managed healthcare payors and other similar funding or grant sources and various regulatory authorities, such as the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Office of Inspector General (OIG), the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Texas Health and Human Services (HHS).
Minimum Specifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred.
Experience
Minimum eight (8) years' experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, audit or compliance, preferably with a multi-faceted healthcare company or academic medical center.Experience with compliance auditing procedures across the spectrum of compliance-related topics.Experience with risk assessment and audit plan development and continuous life cycle management to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the compliance control environment.Experience with data analytics to leverage analysis and insights across all stages of the audit lifecycle is preferred.Experience leading teams and supervising staff is required.Certification / Registration / Licensure
Certification in healthcare compliance is required and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. Specifically, currently certified and in good standing with one of the following :

Operations
Manage cross-functional intradepartmental teams focused on compliance risk and audit activities in setting and managing milestones and deliverables to achieve stated outcomesManage timely completion and quality outcomes associated with interdepartmental performance indicators, work plan activities and other risk and audit responsibilities of the ProgramCoordinate timely and accurate responses to third-party audits and / or inquiries, including government agencies and contractorsMonitor the external environment to ensure timely assessment of regulatory guidance, adherence to specific requirements and the implementation of industry best practiceSelect, train, motivate, supervise, coach, mentor and develop employeesChair or Co-Chair various compliance committees as necessaryPerform other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the Program and organizationStrategy

Develop processes to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Ensures operations are carried out in compliance with these regulations.Works collaboratively with others to validate and sustain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.Conducts routine compliance audits identifying gaps and implementing remediation plans as necessary.Works collaboratively with leadership and / or Compliance to investigate and respond to matters of concern or alleged violations taking corrective action as necessary.Provides timely and accurate responses to requests for information from regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.Fiscal Management and Operating Budget
Operationally responsible for the financial performance of assigned area(s).Promote activities to achieve operational efficiency.Manage the approved budget through frequent and regular monitoring.
