Bookkeeper

William Vaughan Company is helping in the search for a Bookkeeper for a General Contractor based in Holland, OH.

They are seeking a skilled individual to join their team.

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the company.

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger, supplier's ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
• Reconcile entries to ensure all accounts are balanced.
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
• Help support in contracts, job set ups and estimates. Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system for financial documents.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Assist with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
