Project Engineer CNS with Production support experience
The Construction discipline within the Engineering department is responsible for the engineering and realisation of the entire hull of the superyacht. So you will be working on engineering the construction of the complete Casco.
As a Project Engineer Construction at Royal van Lent Shipyard Kaag, the project engineers are the driving force behind the realisation of the casco design of our superyachts. Is responsible for the complete engineering scope within the construction discipline and ensuring that all components come together seamlessly, from the initial sketches to the perfect finish. In this versatile role, they will combine in-depth technical knowledge with leadership and organisational talent. Will lead a team of engineers, ensure clear communication, and be the driving force behind innovative solutions for complex challenges on the exterior and casco of our yachts. The link between the client, the shipyard, and all parties involved. The goal? A perfect result that everyone is proud of! This role will report to the Lead Engineer and work closely with the Project Manager, Engineering (PME).
Compliance & Feasibility : Ensures projects meet all requirements and regulations; assesses manufacturability, and supports scope creation.
Team Leadership & Quality : Provides clear instructions, coaching, and supervision to engineers; monitors project quality and ensures accurate documentation.
Planning & Coordination : Participates in meetings, supports planning, manages information flow, and coordinates work distribution.
Communication & Collaboration : Interacts with the client, PME, Lead Engineer, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and production to align project objectives, report progress, and resolve issues.
What we ask :
A Bachelor's or Master's education in Naval Architecture or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Engineer or 3 years as a Project Engineer (or similar).
Proven experience in an engineering role focused on Construction, Casco builds within the shipbuilding industry.
Strong understanding of interior design principles and construction techniques.
Proficiency in CAD software and 3d modelling tools. Preferably Autocad, Cadmatic and NX knowledge.
Knowledge from and experience with structural design, hull engineering, exterior engineering, moving equipment and equipment integration.
Knowledge from FEM and stress analysis and weight and budgeting.
Deep technical insight into yacht building and production, and construction processes.
Youre analytical by nature and have a high standard when it comes to delivering quality and results.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for excellence and attention to detail.
