Job Summary
The Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) is seeking a dedicated team member to support key functions within the Education Program. A primary focus for the Academic Program Coordinator will be on admissions, recruitment, and alumni engagement for the Master of Science (MSc) and PhD in Global Health Sciences programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across teams, engaging with students and alumni, and advancing the visibility and impact of two premier global health education programs.
In this role, the individual will lead and coordinate the MSc and PhD admissions and recruitment cycles, serving as a central liaison between applicants, faculty, the UCSF Graduate Division, and the IGHS Communications team. (The PhD program opens admissions every other year and is not active in the 2025-26 academic year). Responsibilities include managing the Slate admissions platform, conducting application reviews, preparing reports for admissions committees, and ensuring compliance with Graduate Division policies. The position will also help design and implement targeted recruitment strategies - organizing information sessions, developing outreach materials, and cultivating relationships with undergraduate and other graduate institutions to build the applicant pipeline.
Beyond admissions, the position plays a key role in strengthening alumni engagement. This includes developing a structured approach to alumni communications and events, maintaining the IGHS alumni LinkedIn group, tracking career outcomes, and promoting opportunities for continued involvement within the IGHS network.
Overall, this role contributes to the growth, visibility, and operational excellence of the IGHS Education Programs - connecting prospective students, current learners, and alumni as part of a global community advancing health equity worldwide.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $63,700 - $136,100 (Annual Rate).
