Animal Care Facilities (ACF) Technician (part-time)

Description

Working under the supervision of the Animal Care Facilities (ACF) Manager within the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance, the Animal Care Facilities (ACF) Technician is responsible for assisting with the managing and monitoring the daily activities of the ACF, maintaining animal welfare and animal rooms, caging, equipment, feed, bedding, and other supplies in accordance with standard and acceptable husbandry practices. This is an on-campus, part-time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct daily activities of the Animal Care Facility (ACF) to ensure the well-being of the animals ensuring compliance with facility SOPs, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Report any animal welfare issues through the appropriate channels.Monitor ACF environmental conditions for potential problems and take appropriate corrective actions.Ensure all preventive and routine maintenance procedures are performed as scheduled and recorded in appropriate logbooks and submit work order and other requests, as required.
• Transport of animals to / from temporary trailer during lab renovation.
• Available to work early morning, evening, weekends, and holidays, when necessary.
• Perform other duties as may be required.
