Used Ag Equipment Manager

Butler Machinery is seeking a Used Ag Equipment Manager to lead our Used Agriculture Equipment strategy. In this role, you'll guide a team of used equipment professionals and partner closely with our field teams to achieve annual sales goals. This position is based out of Fargo, ND, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with one of the region's premier agricultural equipment dealers.
Responsibilities :
- Ownership of used Ag inventory levels, model mix, and inventory turns.
- Establishes trade values for used Ag equipment.
- Working with the stores to manage all necessary reconditioning to our used equipment.
- Purchase and sell used Ag equipment outside of our territory.
- Manage the used Ag equipment machine inspection process.
- Assists the Finance Department in establishing lease residual values.
- Oversees the decisions regarding website postings of used equipment.
- Works with the Marketing Department for promotion of used assets.
- Establishes relationships with other Ag Equipment dealers and customers.
- Leads in development and implementation of new processes to support Ag business growth.
- Supports sales staff as pertains to Ag used equipment needs.
- Responsible for the profit or loss of the used equipment department.
- Regular travel to our stores to maintain strong understanding of used assets and store relationships.
- Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties :
Organizes, communicates, and delegates responsibilities and priorities to subordinates to ensure the successful operation of the department.Provides leadership that recognizes employee performance, motivating employees, and promoting self-development.Communicates with and coaches employees on assignments, providing technical expertise as needed.Selects, trains, and develops employees consistent with department / division goals, providing coaching on career development.Qualifications :
Agriculture Industry experience is required.A Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of business experience, training and / or education required.Ability to evaluate conditions and accurately estimate repairs.Strong mechanical background / aptitude.Ability to lead and motivate a team.Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.Keen understanding of business management and decision making.Strong oral and written communication skills.Basic Accounting and Finance knowledge.Knowledge of Ag Technology.Strong customer relations background.Experience and understanding of the sales process.Ability to work with multiple different departments to achieve a specific goal.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Power Point is required.As a family business for three generations, we currently employ over 900 associates in 20 locations throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Nebraska.
