Responsibilities \n\n
Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN’s (PACU RNs) assess patients’ health in the pre-op state. PACU RNs are responsible for overseeing vital signs, changing bandages, and administering necessary medications. PACU RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
\n\n \n\t
- Educate families and patients about homecare instructions\n\t
- Manage respiratory instability and cardiac monitoring activities\n\t
- Assess patient’s condition after surgery is performed, ensuring that all vital signs are within range\n\t
- Monitor patient’s condition changes and report changes to the healthcare team\n\t
- Perform intervention duties in the case of post-operative emergencies\n
