Deputy Director of Finance
Key Focus Areas Include :
- Overseeing accounting, budgeting, payroll, billing, and cash management functions
- Advising administration and County leadership on financial performance and strategies
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining internal controls and audit readiness across all financial operations
Key Responsibilities :
Directs and coordinates all financial activities of CNR, including accounting, budgeting, and data processingOversees third-party billing to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance providersDevelops and monitors procedures to maximize reimbursement and ensure accurate claimsPrepares monthly and annual financial statements, reports, and forecastsAdvises CNR administration on fiscal policies, budgets, and long-term financial planningMaintains internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with audit standardsMonitors cash flow, manages investments, and implements effective cash management practicesOversees payroll processing and ensures accuracy and completeness of all employee recordsSupervises and trains accounting and clerical staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing teamRepresents CNR in financial matters with County, State, and Federal agenciesForecasts the financial impact of reimbursement formula changes and regulatory updatesManages purchasing, inventory tracking, and departmental budgeting activitiesQualifications and Attributes :
Thorough knowledge of modern accounting, fiscal management, and auditing practicesStrong understanding of healthcare billing, reimbursement, and cost reportingExperience in financial operations within a nursing home, long-term care, or healthcare settingAbility to analyze complex data and prepare clear, accurate financial reportsSkilled in supervising staff, establishing goals, and evaluating performanceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with leadership, auditors, and regulatorsHigh level of integrity, sound judgment, and resourcefulness in problem-solvingProficiency in accounting software, spreadsheet analysis, and data management toolsTraining and Experience :
Possession of a Masters degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or a closely related field, with the successful completion of 18 credit hours in accounting; orPossession of a Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or a closely related field, with the successful completion of 18 credit hours in accounting.A minimum of three years of full-time paid accounting experience in healthcare finance, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and reimbursement, including third-party insurance billing, budget preparation, or financial reporting.Experience must include work with double-entry and accrual accounting systems.Salary : $115,000-125,000
