Entry-Level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst

Overview :

FPM Remediation, Inc. is currently seeking to fill a GIS Analyst position at its Oneida, New York office. The Analyst will become part of a GIS team, led by a Senior GIS Analyst, involved in spatial analysis and the creation of ArcGIS maps and data management. The analyst will work with individual project teams to support a wide range of environmental investigation, remediation, and engineering projects.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Generate and update a variety of maps utilizing ESRI's ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online platforms.
• Environmental data collection.
• Capture relevant data from multiple resources and utilizing GPS.
• Generate, update, and manage various shapefiles and geodatabases.
• Convert / Import / Export various file structures into GIS format.

Education and / or Experience :

B.S. degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental, GeoEnvironmental, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop and ArcGIS Pro 3.x software is required.

Working knowledge of ArcGIS Online.

Use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems.

Ability to generate SDSFIE compliant metadata.

Knowledge, interest, and project experience in GIS applications.

Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

Can work independently.

Strong attention to detail.

Highly motivated with ability to take an assignment and progress independently.

Basic programing skills, Python scripting / programming a plus.

Wage :

The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
