Job Summary :
The Development Coordinator interacts with the community with a focus in fundraising, events and food drives. As a key member of a fast-paced, and progressive, development team, the Development Coordinator supports a variety of efforts and must be comfortable working with people of all walks of life, highly organized, detail oriented, independent, and flexible. The Development Coordinator works closely under the supervision of the North Central Regional Director to meet the fundraising and community engagement goals of the region and state. Donor stewardship and customer relations are a critical focus area. The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing resource development activities, fundraising initiatives, events, and donor interactions & relations including cultivation, recognition, solicitation and reporting. The Development Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating individual, group and corporate involvement in The Foodbanks mission through networking, volunteer and collaborative activities, and other communication channels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Build existing and new partnerships, both corporate and individual, throughout the North Central service area to raise critical funds. This includes, supporting the overall regional goals and efforts, however assigned. Actively manage the day-to-day relationships with donors and prospects through various activities including meetings, phone calls, letters, reports, email, external / internal event attendance, timely response to donor inquiries and acknowledgement of gifts. Maintain existing and develop new fundraising campaigns and food drives by corporate and community groups. Coordinator is primary point person for updating, adding, and maintaining donor and prospect constituents, tracking and reporting actions within records in Raisers Edge. Project coordination that may include food and fund drives, campaigns, events, and community engagement outreach. Act as key spokesperson and / or represent the IFB at various community events and meetings when applicable. Coordinate development activities with Marketing Communication, Volunteer, and Development statewide teams and execute locally as directed. Activities include providing content for e-newsletter and other social media engagement opportunities and serving as media contact locally. Keeps confidentiality of donors, maintains accurate customer relationship management database records and provides reports. Provides support to the Regional Director by managing donor and community engagement, fundraising events, and local food drives. Develop strong relationships within the community to foster a positive image that leads companies and individuals to make The Idaho Foodbank the volunteer organization of choice. Manage Volunteer Development Ambassador program with guidance of the Regional Director. Conduct Idaho Foodbank warehouse tours and IFB / Program presentations, as needed. Support Food Rescue Program in NC area by identifying new donor partner stores and maintaining current donor relations through regular store and donor visits in coordination with IFB team members. Provides support to Volunteer Coordinator by cultivating, recruiting, and recognizing volunteers for the North Central region. Responsible for weekly deposits of donations and following the cash handling procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Comfortable with gift solicitation, development and delivery of persuasive presentations, and creation of reports that may include technical information. Relationship management skills with preferred knowledge of North Central Idaho area. Preferred experience in fundraising, volunteer management, event coordination and working with diverse stakeholders. Bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications or related field preferred. Data entry and reporting experience with CRMs and inventory software is preferred. Comfortable using innovative, creative and entrepreneurial approach to overcome challenges. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively, with ability to work a diverse schedule.
