LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Emergency Medicine MD in Lafayette, Louisiana, 70506!

About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Louisiana, starting Nov 13, 2025. This position offers 24-hour single physician coverage (7a-7p) with an average of 10 hours of NP / PA support on select days, and involves caring for an average of 49 patients per day.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide emergency medical care to a diverse patient population
  • Independently manage a daily average of 49 patients in the emergency department
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers for up to 10 hours of support per day, depending on the schedule
  • Apply expertise in emergency, internal, or family medicine as appropriate to each case
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care and patient safety in a single physician coverage model

    • Additional Information

  • Active IMLC or Louisiana license required
  • Must have completed EM, IM, or FM residency with at least 2 years of emergency medicine experience, or be ABEM certified
  • Required board certification : Emergency Medical Services
