Must-Have :

• Ability to titrate cardiac drips
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing contract
• Be able to float between all telemetry and medical-surgical units
• Work two of three major holidays

Description :

Registered Nurses will work in a telemetry float pool setting.

Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract, with a maximum of two attempts within 48 hours of the offer.

If the traveler fails the exam, they will be sent home and placed on a do not use list for 6 months.

There is also a pass / fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation.

If the traveler fails the simulation, they will be sent home and placed on a do not use list for 6 months.

Positions require floating between all telemetry and medical-surgical units, including but not limited to ICU and cardiac telemetry.

Nurses will float based on skill level and may float to various holding areas, including cath lab and observation floors.

Notification of campus and unit will be given 1.5 hours prior to shift start.

Floating between campuses can occur, although it's rare to float to another campus during a single shift.

Typical patient cases include post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, and general telemetry patients.

Common devices and medications managed include amiodarone, cardene, nitroglycerin, and heparin.

Nurses are required to interpret EKGs.

Weekend shifts are required, with expectations to cover every other weekend.

RNs must work a total of 4 weekend shifts per four-week period.

Travelers must maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate unit needs.

This role involves engaging with patient care in acute settings, supporting the telemetry population, and addressing a variety of patient needs.
