Responsibilities
The successful candidate must show evidence of the potential to produce internationally recognized research (at the Assistant level) or have a strong track record of publication success (at the advanced Assistant level). Applicants from any field will receive full consideration. Ideal candidates would demonstrate clear potential to produce high quality research in applied structural estimation techniques that complement areas of strength in the department such as public, labor, health, innovation, industrial organization, or urban economics. Duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and service responsibilities. The ability to teach econometrics in the first-year core PhD sequence is desirable. Completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. before the date of hire is required.

The Department of Economics is the largest department in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy. We have 32 full-time faculty and an active research program. At the undergraduate level, we offer an economics major, economics minor, as well as several specialized studies programs. At the graduate level, we offer both an MS program and a PhD program. Our MS program has a strong applied focus and is designed to be completed in twelve months. Our PhD program has graduated over 250 doctoral students since 1967. Through coursework and fieldwork, students gain knowledge, skills, and academic credential needed for careers in business, government, academy, and the private sector.
