POSITION STANDARDS
- High School diploma with 3 years of administrative support experience or the equivalent required.
- Proven experience working with the public required.
- Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology may be required.
- Proficiency in PC keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

PART TWO : FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Position Objective
Performs a variety of independent administrative support in addition to a wide range of customer service-related duties. Schedules patients for appointments and procedures in the clinic and hospital settings. Manages multiple calendars and schedules. May support and / or direct special projects and implement workflow improvement, including training of staff.
Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of patient registration, checkout and scheduling, insurance guidelines and authorization processes.
Responsible for the medical infusion clinic and assigned hospital support services.
Performance Expectation
Schedules patients via the telephone and the electronic medical record system utilizing best practice documentation standards. This includes managing waitlists and provider templates.Designs, analyzes, and coordinates master and other schedules.Ability to assesses the needs of patients without appointments and determine the best course of action. This includes obtaining referrals, medical records, or connecting with clinical support for medical triage.Completes any follow up needs for patients as directed by the after-visit summary or pre appointment requirement for treatment such as booking appointments, scheduling lab and radiology exams, or arranging for any external procedures.Creates forms and spreadsheets, tables, charts, databases and slides.Receives incoming phone calls from providers, other staff or external provider offices. Appropriately assesses the needs of the caller and processes requests, takes messages, schedules appointments or transfers the call. Follows established referral management processes.Completes and processes a variety of reports for authorization. Obtains authorizations and pre-certifications for all external and stat procedures to ensure patients receive services a timely manner. Understanding of medical necessity for insurance purposes. Provides updates on insurance requirements and proposes workflow changes to support efficient authorization processes.Conducts on the job training for new staff members and gives input into performance appraisals.Coordinates meetings with supported teams to discuss workflow process improvements and address issues. Creates agendas and takes minutes for meetings.Performs other duties as required or assigned.Min : $18.28
