Position Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Coding and Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, submitting claims to insurance providers, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to patient records
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies and third-party payers
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, working to resolve any coding or billing issues
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA
