Director of Operations (Full-Time)

For over 43 years, we have cared for hospice patients across the Portland Metropolitan area, bringing interdisciplinary and holistic hospice services to patients and their support systems.

The Director of Operations provides organization-wide operational support across all key functions and is responsible for managing the internal systems and processes that support the daily functions of the operations. The position oversees administrative operations, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, supports clinical and non-clinical teams, manages key projects, and helps implement organizational policies and strategic goals in collaboration with the Medical Director and clinical management and support from the Executive Director. The role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and aligning daily functions with the mission of exceptional quality and compassionate care.

Requirements and Duties :

  • Baccalaureate degree or higher in healthcare, business management, finance, or related field with a minimum of three years of management or supervisory experience, OR a minimum of five years of related work experience, with at least three years of management or supervisory experience. Hospice experience preferred.
  • In partnership with the Executive Director, leadership team, and staff, plans, directs, and implements organizational objectives and activities to ensure efficient operations and maximum productivity; actively develops, evaluates, and revises policies, procedures, and protocols to support ongoing improvement and sustainability.
  • Oversees the development, planning, and successful implementation of new programs and special projects to support organizational growth and mission delivery.
  • Analyzes existing technology systems and researches, procures, and implements new technologies to enhance performance and create efficiencies across the organization. Provides input to related systems and monitors the processing of data relating to the efficiency and effectiveness of such systems.
  • In coordination and collaboration with the Human Resources Manager, oversees the organization's workforce which includes hiring, coaching, and performance improvement, while ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
  • Actively models strong leadership and works one-on-one with staff to build skills, address concerns, and foster effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving, in order to accomplish high-performing, cohesive teams.
  • Preferred applicant will be required to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen, following an offer of employment.
  • New employees are required to complete tuberculosis screening and provide proof of Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
