Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active ID or compact license and recent ICU experience for a night shift critical care opportunity.
Responsibilities
Work in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within an acute care hospital settingMixed patient population including medical, surgical, and neuro ICU casesCommon diagnoses include CABG, CVA, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhage, GI bleeds, DKA, STEMI, septic shock, overdose, respiratory failure, neurosurgery, and open heart surgeryNo trauma, burn, or transplant patientsNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1 and 1 : 2Shift is 12 hours, nights (7p–7a), with every other weekend requiredFloating required to other ICUs in the Valley including Meridian and Nampa Medical Centers; may float outside ICU as a 1 : 1 sitterEpic EMR is used; experience preferredNo blocked scheduling or special requests for scheduling acceptedPermanent employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before applying for a travel assignmentCNA and respiratory therapist support available in unit 24 / 7Resource and charge nurses available; charge nurse does not typically take an assignmentUnit-specific orientation provided (1–2 shifts)May be required to work assigned holidays as neededNo call or standby requirementsNo specified dress code or scrub color requirementApplicants must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facilityRequirements
Active ID or compact state RN license required at time of consideration; pending licensure is not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent ICU experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredExperience titrating critical care drips such as dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, cardene, nitro, neo, vasopressin, diltiazem, insulin, and esmolol requiredAbility to monitor and read cardiac strips requiredTwo professional references required : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibilityCopy of driver’s license required for considerationBenefits
