  • Job Summary

    The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens , preparing them for testing, and ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable during the process. The PSR I works under direct supervision to deliver safe, accurate, and efficient specimen collection services while upholding confidentiality and compliance with all clinical and company standards.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary specimen collections , including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Maintain accurate records, labeling, and verification of patient specimens.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Travel or float to cover additional patient service locations as required.
  • Follow all health, safety, and compliance policies.
  • Required Experience

  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy or specimen collection experience required.
  • 1+ years of experience in phlebotomy or a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service or retail / service experience preferred.
  • Keyboard / data entry experience required.
  • Required Skills

  • Phlebotomy skills across diverse patient groups.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime when needed.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in a high-volume healthcare or lab environment.
  • Ability to float between patient service centers.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus.
  • Licensure & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; mandatory only in CA, NV, WA (not required in NY).
