Responsibilities :
- Driving laundry truck when needed.
- Checks in before associates come to work.
- Turns on / checks statuses of machines to ensure they are operating correctly.
- Walking linen rooms to ensure we are stocking appropriately for the day.
- Holds daily meetings at the start of each shift to set priorities and assign their stations.
- Ensures that tracking is being done for all items being processed.
- Personally, works alongside / supervises the daily operation.
- Completes quality checks on reclaim processes.
- Decides when linen should be donated or turned into rags when necessary.
- Responsible for the correct folding standard for all linen processed.
- Inspects all linen being delivered to laundry clients.
- Responsible for associate morale, absenteeism, and daily production.
- Responsible for communication with Director of Housekeeping, Director of Rooms and Engineering department for all important information regarding laundry ex; reporting machines not working, daily inspections being completed, and quality control.
- Troubleshooting any issues with equipment or processes and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Responsible for all monthly inventories.
- Responsible for daily / weekly / monthly payroll, chemical and assorted operating costs. Prepares weekly schedules based off business demands.
- Before leaving each day, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and hazard free as well as emailing a pass on to Director of Rooms and Director of Housekeeping.
- Will cover certain housekeeping duties while the Director of Housekeeping is out of office.
Qualifications
Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check.Minimum of 2 years progressive Laundry and Housekeeping Management experience preferably in an upscale, full-service hotel.Ability to speak Spanish is not required but will be considered as a valuable asset.Prior experience in managing service recovery and associate relation matters required.Strong understanding of laundry operations, including chemicals, invoicing and linen management.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.Able to set priorities and goals for laundry team and provide feedback to others that enhances performance and boots morale.Support in recruitment, training and development of housekeeping and laundry.Able to clearly and professionally communicate verbally and written in English with guests, management and co-workers in housekeeping and laundry.Responding to guest satisfaction feedback and ensure housekeeping and laundry services are meeting Hilton / HRI standards.Strong understanding of housekeeping and laundry supplies and par levels.Proficiency with computers, excel, and other Operating systems.Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.Must be able to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing 50 pounds without assistance.Stand or walk for extended periods or for the entire shift.Requires repetitive motions from arms, hands, and legs.HRI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides fair and equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected status prohibited under Federal, State, or local laws.
