Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field is a plus. Prior experience in logistics, shipping, or customs-related role is REQUIRED. Familiarity with logistics software and customs entry systems such as INTTRA, GT Nexus, etc., and CargoWise supply chain management platform is REQUIRED. Strong understanding of international shipping and customs regulations (import / export procedures). Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Overview
The Entry Writer will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate and timely documentation for customs clearance and import / export processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics operations and customs regulations, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit all necessary documents for customs clearance, ensuring compliance with all local and international regulations.
- Maintain and update accurate records of shipments, customs entries, and related paperwork.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth processing of goods.
- Review shipping documents (invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, etc.) to verify compliance with customs requirements.
- Communicate with clients and vendors to gather and verify required shipment details and documentation.
- Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies related to customs entries and logistics operations.
- Stay updated on customs laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure continued compliance.
- Assist in preparing reports on customs and shipping activities for internal and external stakeholders.
- Handle inbound and outbound shipments efficiently, ensuring accurate data entry into the system.
