Azure Data & Analytics Solution Architect

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data & Analytics Solution Architect to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade data platforms using Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark . This role requires strong solution architecture skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across business and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities Business Engagement & Requirements

Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.

Translate business objectives into technical specifications , data models , and solution architecture components .

Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and solution walkthroughs with cross-functional teams.

Solution Architecture & Design

Architect end-to-end data and analytics solutions using Azure Data Platform, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark .

Design data flows , integration patterns , ELT / ETL pipelines , data models , and governance layers .

Produce cloud architecture diagrams and ensure alignment with enterprise standards for scalability, performance, security, and compliance.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

Translate architectural designs into actionable technical tasks, user stories, and backlog items.

Provide architectural oversight during development, ensuring engineering teams follow approved designs.

Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps; drive mitigation, planning, and solution improvements.

Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, QA, Product Owners, and Cloud Engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality, Governance & Continuous Improvement

Define and enforce best practices for data quality , data lineage , metadata , observability , and operational monitoring .

Ensure solutions are optimized for performance , scalability , and cost efficiency within Azure environments.

Recommend new patterns, automation, and platform enhancements to improve speed, reliability, and architecture maturity.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data solution architecture or senior data engineering roles .

Strong hands-on expertise with :

Azure Data Platform (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Azure Functions, Key Vault)

Databricks (DBX) - Delta Lake, notebooks, clusters, workspace management, CI / CD

Apache Spark (PySpark / Scala)

Proven ability to design secure , scalable , and high-performance cloud data architectures.

Strong knowledge of ETL / ELT , data modeling , integration patterns , and data governance .

Experience writing user stories, defining engineering tasks, and guiding delivery teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Lakehouse architecture and Data Mesh principles .

Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka, Event Hub, or Spark Streaming.

Familiarity with MLflow , machine learning pipelines , or advanced analytics workloads.

Azure or Databricks certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Databricks Data Engineer Associate, Solutions Architect).

Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
