Part-Time Temporary Investigator
Under the direct supervision of the Metal Theft Sergeant, the investigator is responsible for enforcing regulations concerning metal recycling entities, conducting criminal investigations, and filing charges when needed. He / she shall conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and suspects to obtain relevant facts and present them to the District Attorney's Office for charges.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Case management
- Interview witnesses and interrogate suspects
- Conducts surveillance
- Conducts thorough investigations, subpoenas records, and any other items needed for case presentation to the ADA
- Conduct interviews with complainants, victims, witnesses, and suspects to obtain relevant facts
- Conduct follow-up investigations
- Prepares detailed reports
- Execute both arrest and search warrants, conduct surveillance, and assist local, state, and federal partners in conducting criminal investigations
- File charges and testify in court
- Assists other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in conducting criminal investigations.
- Performs other assignments and duties as required and / or necessary
Minimum Requirements :

Must be an Honorably Retired Peace OfficerA minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in law enforcementA minimum of (2) years prior patrol and / or criminal investigative experience with any law enforcement agency.Must have an active TCOLE Peace Officer LicenseWilling to accept, attend, and successfully complete additional training as requiredMust present a professional imageKnowledge of :
