Asociate Director, External Communications - Americas (New York)

Our client, a leading financial services company is hiring an Associate Director, External Communications - Americas on a long-term contract basis.

New York, NY 10041- 2 days onsite preferred. Will consider REMOTE for local candidate.

Pay is $68 / hr W2.

In this 9 month contract, you will manage and oversee external communications and media relations across key markets in the Americas, including LATAM.

Report into the Head of Communications, and work closely with key US / Americas leaders and stakeholders to support out media relations and external comms efforts for the business.

Key day-to-day activity includes :

Draft press releases and key index announcements to support the business, working closely with legal and compliance counterparts

Media monitoring and sharing of key news stories

Crisis and issues communications support

Play a critical role in our global day-to-day press office activity, including responding to key financial and markets reporters in timely manner

Thought leadership and research distribution with key reporters

Advise senior leaders and stakeholders on critical comms issues

Support across index rebalance communications

Educate reporters on index methodologies and approach

Contribute to internal communications initiatives where appropriate

Qualifications :

At least 8 years of communications experience, with significant focus on external communications, preferably in the financial services / markets industry

Exceptional writer

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to easily build relationships and inspire trust and confidence from senior leaders

Experience working globally in a large multinational, matrixed organization or agency environment

Creativity and willingness to try new communications formats and push the boundaries

Eagerness to explore content creation tools

Ability to develop KPIs to measure success and use data and insights to inform communications decisions, influence stakeholders and demonstrate results

Effective management of priorities and level of service to our stakeholders

Execution to the highest of standards, with strong attention to detail and deadlines

Bachelors or equivalent university degree
