ICU RN Job Details Location : Chicago, IL 60612 (Chicago healthcare jobs) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Healthcare Setting : Level 1 Trauma Center Start Date : December 9, 2026 End Date : March 10, 2027 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Nursing Shifts : 3x12-hour shifts per week (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1910 - $1960 On-Site Position Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an ICU setting Active Illinois RN license (required for Chicago nursing jobs) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Experience with Cerner EMR charting system preferred COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no COVID-19 exemptions; medical / religious exemptions for Flu only) Ability to float between ICU units (Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU) and Med-Surg units Proficient in arterial line management, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment Float between multiple ICU units and support Med-Surg units as needed Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Cerner EMR Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and titrate IV drips Interpret arterial blood gases and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautions Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competencies Apply now for this ICU Registered Nurse travel job in Chicago, IL and join our dedicated healthcare team today!
