Lead Mammography Technologist (FT Days) – Downtown Houston, TX

Location : Houston, TX 77030

Schedule : Full-Time, Day Shift

Department : Radiology / Mammography

Travel : Not Required

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team in Downtown Houston. In this key leadership role, you will oversee daily mammography operations, ensure compliance with quality standards, mentor technologists, and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced diagnostic environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Mammo Tech ready to take the next step into a leadership position, guiding excellence in breast imaging and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and coordinate daily mammography operations, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols and regulatory standards (FDA / MQSA, ACR).
  • Perform high-quality mammographic and diagnostic imaging studies using advanced radiologic equipment.
  • Oversee quality assurance, calibration, and preventive maintenance of mammography equipment.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to junior technologists.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and support staff to optimize workflow and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, patient records, and imaging data in PACS and EMR systems.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures.
  • Contribute to departmental process improvements and accreditation readiness.

Qualifications : Education :

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology , required.
  • Certifications & Licensure :

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R) and Mammography certification (ARRT-M) , required.
  • Current Texas Medical Board license (MRT) or temporary license, required.
  • Basic or Advanced Life Support (BLS / ACLS) certification, required.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Mammography experience , with at least 1–2 years in a senior or lead role preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage workflow, staff scheduling, and compliance documentation.
  • Skills & Competencies :

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital mammography systems and imaging protocols.
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to patient safety and quality assurance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
