Job description

Regional Director - Headhunter I Built Environment

Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

Base pay range : $175,000.00 / yr - $200,000.00 / yr

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Oversee the design, scheduling, budgeting, and permitting of land development and infrastructure projects.
  • Support business development efforts — including proposal preparation, client meetings, and networking.
  • Provide high-level technical oversight on grading, drainage, water, sewer, and paving design.
  • Review and approve civil construction drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, contractors, and local municipalities to achieve project goals.
  • Implement and maintain company-wide standards for CAD templates, specifications, and design details.
  • Ensure project schedules and budgets are managed effectively through project management software.
  • Track staff utilization, invoicing, and billable goals to meet company targets.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance quality and efficiency across all operations.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain comprehensive awareness of all active projects to provide direction and problem-solving support.
  • Apply expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil design tools.
  • Manage and deliver $400K–$500K in billable work annually.
  • Interpret consultant drawings and reports, integrating them into final design packages.
  • Oversee quality control / quality assurance procedures to ensure all deliverables meet internal and external standards.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, delegation, and communication skills while fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Represent the firm professionally with clients and public agencies, building long-term relationships.
  • Continuously pursue innovation and improvement in project delivery and design methods.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas.
  • 10+ years of experience in land development and site design.
  • At least 7 years of experience in project management and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Deep understanding of civil infrastructure design, including grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and permitting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and guide diverse teams to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
