About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Shift : 12H Evenings

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Room

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have :

1. Must have 1 year of Trauma Level 1 experience

2. Must have Cerner experience, to be noted on resume

3. Candidates are required to pass a DYS exam prior to accepting.

4. No first-time travelers will be considered.

Description :

Client pre-screens candidates as per clinical recommendations.

There is a 50-mile radius rule in place.

Candidates must provide a valid driver's license.

Travel teams must have their own vehicles.

Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings.

Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing.

There is a pass / fail exam on the first day of orientation.

A study guide will be provided for the exam.

All RNs must complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion.

Travelers will float between multiple facilities.

Expectations include maintaining sterile fields during procedures.

There will be additional educational sessions on lifts, restraints, and wound care.

Unit demographics include 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds, with 6 trauma bays.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4.

Telemonitoring is performed with Phillips monitors, and staff must be able to read strips.

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Common patient diagnoses include trauma, burns, and pediatrics.

The assignment includes a weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month.

Cancellation policy allows for shift cancellations up to 4 times during a 13-week assignment.

Nurses will receive floor-specific orientation.

Demands of the role include the ability to manage 250-300 patients per day.
