Job Overview

We have an opportunity for a full time (1.0 FTE) Certified Medical Assistant in our Outpatient Department.

The Medical Assistant (MA) has responsibilities related to patient care in the outpatient clinic environment. The MA displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The MA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care, including but not limited to obtaining heights, weights and vital signs in addition to gathering pertinent patient history and medication information. The MA maintains an inventory of examination / procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety.

Responsibilities

Assessment / Patient Care

• Assists physicians, nursing and other health care professional with procedures, the intake and depart processes. Accurately documents findings during the intake process in the EMR.

Qualifications

Required :

High School Diploma / GED

Certificate in Medical Assistant Program

Certification as a CMA (AAMA)

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred :

Associate Degree in Medical Assistant Program

2 years experience as a medical assistant

1 year of pediatric care experience
