Role and Responsibilities
As a Junior Carrier Sales Executive, you will be partnering with a Strategic or Senior Carrier Sales Executive (SCSE) gaining industry knowledge to grow relationships between carriers and DeSpir Logistics and utilize tools to guide negotiation and buying decisions. This role combines sales, and account management to meet the transportation needs of our customers. This is a fast paced, high-energy position.
Day to Day Responsibilities :
- Daily phone contact with carriers, building relationships and providing effective support to the SCSE
- Clearly understand internal instructions regarding a customer’s shipment requirements and partner with the SCSE on handling complex shipments
- Cover, track and trace all booked freight, support colleagues, and maintain excellent customer service for which DL is known
- Continually collaborate with internal DL colleagues, teammates, and any other personnel necessary to help secure new business
- In collaboration with the SCSE, manage customers and work closely with the Sales Team in the development of new opportunities
- Ability to book freight with Senior or Executive Carrier Sales supervision when the JCSE has hit a certain level of competency or has been deemed able to by the Carrier Sales Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS :
At minimum, six (6) months of Logistics Brokerage Experience preferredBachelor's degree preferred, but not requiredStrong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence othersAbility to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent resultsExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenDriven, enthusiastic, and highly motivatedAbility to build strong relationshipsHigh attention to detail and ability to multitaskWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeDemonstrates company’s core values : Conscientious, Creative, Determined, Accountable, Willing to Help, and VulnerableWhat We Offer :
