COMMUNICATIONS AND PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Chosen Family Law Center is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced New York City-based Communications and Program Director who is passionate about advancing the rights and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ individuals and non-nuclear families. This role is our second full-time hire and offers the opportunity to lead impactful communications, professional education programs, and strategic partnership efforts – fostering strong connections and building powerful support for our work in direct services, education, and legislative advocacy.
ABOUT CHOSEN FAMILY LAW CENTER
Chosen Family Law Center is a New York-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate equitable social and legal recognition of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+) and polyamorous families and individuals, as well as other underserved non-nuclear family forms such as platonic co-parents or multigenerational families. We enact our mission through three programmatic avenues : direct legal services for low-income New Yorkers; legislative drafting and advocacy; and professional and public education programs for lawyers, judges, therapists, social workers, and the general public.
Our mission-driven, high-performing team is small, collaborative, and made up of members of the communities impacted by our work. We prioritize a client- and community-led, trauma-informed, and accountability-focused perspective. The ideal candidate will share those values and be excited to collaborate on building the world we want to live in. We also highly value our ability to bring our whole selves into the work and are committed to supporting each other’s holistic well-being, continued professional development, and liberation.
