Shift : Varying Schedule with Rotational Weekends, On-Call, and Holiday Volunteers

Position Overview

The Cardiac and Thoracic Operating Room (CTOR) at Mount Sinai Hospital is a high-acuity surgical environment providing perioperative care to patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures.

The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary surgical team. This role requires advanced clinical judgment, strong communication, and technical skills to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety in a fast-paced, high-volume OR setting.

Requirements

Licensure : Active New York State (NYS) RN License – Required

Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Operating Room (Cardiac / Thoracic) experience – Required

Travel Experience : Minimum 1 year travel RN experience – Preferred (not required for per diem)

Education : BSN preferred; Associate Degree accepted with relevant experience or active BSN enrollment

Teaching Hospital Experience : Preferred
