Your mission
Guard the production heartbeat from start to finish : anticipate material needs, coordinate the plan, maintain order and cleanliness, enable a seamless shift-to-shift transition, and ensure every unit meets spec while your team grows under your leadership.
Core impact areas
- Floor Supervision (35%) : Review silo and raw material levels to confirm bulks for the shift; align the production schedule with the Planner; walk the lines to verify tools, work orders, and PPE are all set.
- Housekeeping (5%) : Drive 5S-style cleanliness—sweep, vacuum, clear packaging debris, and ensure equipment cleaning; verify dust collector drums are emptied.
- Staging & Shift Handoff (5%) : Lead the shift meeting; stage materials for the next crew to reduce downtime; issue a shift summary (productivity, downtime, quality concerns), and email the summary at shift end.
- Quality Control (5%) : Use in-date materials per formula; collect QC samples and adjust batches per results; confirm final products meet specification.
- Equipment & Materials (5%) : Escalate maintenance issues, shortages, and repair needs immediately.
- Leadership (25%) : Represent Production cross-functionally; approve timecards and time off; prioritize and allocate work; recruit, manage, and develop plant staff; partner with the Production Manager for peak throughput; assess and reward performance; build team culture; communicate and motivate.
What you bring
5+ years of plant experience.Comfort with math for basic formula weights.Ability to read / interpret directions and order details.Strong written and verbal communication.Proficiency with plant equipment or equivalent experience.Microsoft Office proficiency.ERP experience (JD Edwards preferred).Ability to quickly learn new computer tools / programs.REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
